Felipe was born in São Paulo on April 25, 1981, moved with 5 years old to countryside with his family and spent most of his childhood in the city of Botucatu. At the age of 6 he won from his father a 50 cc motorcycle and soon the passion for speed and its first tumbles appeared, which made his father mind to change it for four whells.
The year has barely begun and the emotions are not over yet. There was a surprising turnaround in the driver market with the announcement of the retirement of champion Nico Rosberg. The Mercedes team showed interest in his ex-teammate Valtteri Bottas. Felipe got a phone call from his then-former boss Claire Williams calling him to quit retirement and be the Williams pilot in 2017. After thinking and talking to his family, Felipe followed his heart, said yes to be Williams official pilot Martini Racing and will be with its number 19 car on the 2017 grid.
